Flint Bishop’s Corporate & Social Responsibility
As a leading firm of solicitors in the Midlands, we know our activities have an impact on the environment. So everyone at Flint Bishop, from solicitors, lawyers and legal professionals to support staff and service providers, takes their role in the community seriously.
You can read more about how we do this below.
ProHelp is a fantastic organisation and we are more than happy to support the East Midlands branch.
If you are not aware of Prohelp, it is a national network of professional firms such as solicitors, accountants and consultants, that are committed to making a difference in their local community. They do this by providing free advice and support to community organisations in need.
We regularly get involved with projects and give legal advice on a pro-bono basis.
Lowering our impact on the environment
We all live on one planet. And here at Flint Bishop Solicitors, we want to make sure we have the smallest footprint on it we can.
To show just how much we mean that statement, we independently tested ourselves by applying for, and gaining, the Environmental Management BS EN ISO 14001 : 2004 standard.
On top of this, we stopped using bottled water over five years ago. This is because research shows that extracting and distributing bottled water puts a strain on the world’s ecosystems.
So we installed ‘plumbed in’ water coolers across the firm. As these take and filter water straight from the mains, it means we can all enjoy fresh-tasting clean water without hurting our environment.
As far as practically possible, we only use low energy lighting throughout the firm. And we ensure that, when not in use, all appliances consume either zero or the minimum amount of energy necessary.
We have an active entertainment and social committee that regularly organises events to raise money for our chosen charities, including:
- Derwent Stepping Stones;
- Children in Need;
- Make a Wish;
- Sporting futures;
- Free Wills Month;
- Save the Children;
- Treetops hospice;
- YMCA Derbyshire;
- Marie Curie;
- National Free Wills Network;
- Safe and Sound;
- Derby RSPCA; and
- Age UK Derby
