Reviews of the full suite of project/development documents
We provide a due diligence review service for clients who are taking an interest in a building or development which has recently been completed or is in the process of being completed whether as freehold owner, tenant or funder etc. so that there are no surprises with the investment. A due diligence review typically involves reviewing the terms of all relevant construction documents including the building contract, consultant appointments, subcontracts and collateral warranties with a view to highlighting the key legal and commercial risks so that an informed decision can be made as to whether the investment should proceed and the value attributed to that investment.
One-off contract reviews
We also carry out “pre-contractual” reviews of individual contracts/sub-contracts which our clients are asked to enter into. The advantage to our clients of a “pre-contractual” review is that we can identify any terms of the contracts which pose a risk to our clients before they are bound by those terms. We can then, if required, request and negotiate amendments to the contracts on behalf of our clients before the contracts are entered into.
