Plans to introduce a Late Night Levy to have Plymouth’s pubs and clubs pay to keep the City’s nightlife safe have been shelved for at least two years.

The Council had planned to introduce a Levy charging businesses for selling alcohol after 01:00 but the scheme has been postponed until details of a Government Review have been published. The Council have stated that they understood Traders had concerns about its introduction and wanted to make sure that they had considered everything in detail before a final decision was made.
