After 01 December 2003, the forms that are sent to the Inland Revenue to pay the stamp duty changed. One of the questions asks for your National Insurance Number to buy a house.

To minimise the risk of delays, please ensure that you provide us with your correct National Insurance Number as we may need to use this in our searches.

How do we combat Inland Revenue requiring your National Insurance Number to buy a house?

The new form, known as the Land Transaction Return, is quite long and we will complete it and send it to you to check and sign. This will be done at no extra cost to you.
