Liverpool City Council has now approved the consultation process with regard to a Late Night Levy in their area has declined to approve it in December 2014. Depending on the responses they get, the decision on whether to implement the Levy is set to be made on the 13 January 2016 with implementation unlikely until June 2016.
The London Borough of Camden was consulting on a Late Night Levy, their consultation was due to close on the 8 May 2015 however, it was downgraded to an informal exercise which was being seen by many as a softening of their approach. The Council, however, are due to meet again on the 8 October to discuss again whether to formally consult and it is thought at the moment that should this be approved implementation is unlikely to take place until at least April 2016.
It has been widely reported that East Riding of Yorkshire met in September 2015 to decide on whether to consult on the implementation of a Late Night Levy. However, having spoken with East Riding of Yorkshire Council we are assured these reports are not accurate.
