We are pleased to welcome Amanda Huggins and Edward Drury to Flint Bishop.

Amanda Huggins has joined as an associate and will be based at Flint Bishop’s Birmingham office.

Amanda brings with her considerable expertise acting for clients including independent landlords, business owners and multinational corporations, on a wide range of commercial property matters including acquisitions, disposals, licences, leases, and financing. Her experience includes transactions on industrial, retail, mixed-use and office premises of varying sizes and values.

Edward Drury has been hired as a solicitor at our Derby headquarters. He has an in-depth knowledge of the legal matters involved with complex, special use and high-value properties, acting on behalf of investors, individuals, developers, pension schemes and companies. His notable work highlights include managing residential real estate portfolios for investors in the Buy to Let space and more recently advising on an agricultural acquisition of 170 acres involving three farm business tenancies with a value in excess of £1.5m.

These latest appointments see the total headcount of our Commercial Property department rise to 16 across our Derby and Birmingham offices, which includes 6 partners and 2 associates.

In recent months, the team has been fortunate to work on some of the largest and most exciting development projects throughout the UK, including the £100m development of a distribution centre and the £35m acquisition and development of a major mixed-use out-of-town retail scheme.

Chief executive, Qamer Ghafoor, said: “I am delighted to welcome Amanda and Edward to the firm.

“Their appointments come at the end of another successful year which has seen a record number of new hires across the business. Our recruitment drive is set to continue well into 2022 to support and grow our diverse portfolio of clients across the Midlands and throughout the UK.

“I am sure that Amanda and Edward will be an integral part of the future development of our Commercial Property team, and I would like to wish them both every success in their new roles.”
