The future of leadership and governance

You are invited to attend an exclusive thought leadership summit

This summit is aimed at Academy Headteachers, Governors and Business Managers on 14 January 2016 at Derbyshire County Cricket Club.

This opportunity brings together leaders in the region to consider the practical steps your leadership and governance team can take to ensure that they work together effectively and to maximise the benefits they each can bring to the development and ensure success in an academy or multi-academy trust.

The event will be chaired by Dame Kathy August, who was awarded the DBE in the 2014 New Year’s Honours List for services to education. In 2003, Kathy took on the major challenge of becoming the first Principal of the Manchester Academy in Moss Side, which was one of the first city academies in the UK and had previously been described as “one of the worst gang infested comprehensives in the country”. Just over five years later, the Academy was judged to be outstanding by Ofsted. Kathy has since gone on to work with other organisations in the education sector and is also currently preparing to write a book about the transformation of Manchester Academy and her experiences in helping to lead that change.

Head of Employment Law and HR, Robert Tice will also join the discussion. Rob leads a team of highly qualified employment lawyers and legal experts, focused on looking after clients that include Multi-Academy Trusts, Academies and Independent and Local Authority Maintained schools.

As places are limited we will be charging an administration fee of £10 which will be donated to one of the firm’s charity partners, Safe and Sound.
