This academy is aimed at up-skilling its 200-strong workforce over the course of the next few months with a range of training programmes from Roundhouse Thinking, the colleges commercial training acquisition.
Within a few days of launching, Flint Bishop saw almost two-thirds of its workforce sign up to receive training, with the majority looking for additional support on the use of Microsoft Excel.
The first round of training was offered in Microsoft Word, Microsoft Excel, Microsoft PowerPoint and Skype, for all levels and have so far fully booked, within just a few of hours of going live.
In October the firm is also expected to host another Flint Bishop Academy date, this time focused on Cyber Security, with all members of staff attending a couple of sessions.
Andrew Cochrane is championing the programme at Flint Bishop and comments;
“I’m very pleased that my colleagues have signed up to receive additional training on some of our widely used programmes. I strongly believe that to lead a successful business, we need to upskill and invest in our staff development in one form or another. Microsoft training will enable our staff to become more efficient and offer the highest quality of documentation to our clients. I have personally signed up for the Microsoft Word course and look forward to working with April, Ryan and Derby College on additional training sessions during the next few months.”
Deputy Principal of Employer and Economic Affairs at Derby College, April Hayhurst commented;
“I am delighted Flint Bishop has chosen to work in partnership with Derby College to launch the Flint Bishop Academy. The Academy will ensure that the current and future workforce will have the required skills to maintain Flint Bishop’s competitive edge.
