The Licensing Committee of Nottingham City Council has decided to introduce a Late Night Levy in Nottingham although importantly are exempting from payment those premises which fall within the City Centre Business Improvement District.
For those premises that attract the levy which will apply from midnight, the annual payment will typically be £768.00 or £1,259.00.
Whilst New Years Eve has been exempted, if premises are open on any other day of the year after midnight they will become liable for the levy if they fall outside the Business Improvement District. Consequently, those premises which have on their Licence the right to trade after midnight, but they do not use those hours should consider making an application for a free minor variation to reduce the hours to midnight.
It is proposed that the levy will be introduced with effect from the 1 November 2014.
