Alpa Divecha-Kanji recognises the immensely diverse demands faced by employment and HR professionals across a range of organisations from the public, private and education sectors.

Providing straightforward advice to clients, Alpa ensures that all legal provisions are explained and fully understood before implementing them.

She also ensures that her advice will provide long-term results. Alpa believes that by educating clients and explaining how best to handle different circumstances, they will be better equipped to avoid similar situations arising, saving time and money in the future.

Alpa establishes trusted working relationships with clients and works closely with organisations in relation to issues such as performance management, disciplinaries and grievances.

Alpa Divecha-Kanji has previous in-house experience of providing employment advice on grievances, disciplinaries, whistleblowing and TUPE matters for a large commercial organisation.

This has enabled her to gain valuable knowledge of working directly for a company and the importance of being able to balance commercial and legal interests.

Alpa has a wealth of experience and a particular interest in dealing with disability-related issues. She assists businesses of all sizes in determining the legal definition of ‘disability’ and in planning out the steps that can be taken to benefit both parties.

Alpa regularly assists organisations in the drafting of employment contracts and settlement agreements and updating internal policies to reflect changes in legislation. She also supports clients through the employment tribunal process, which includes the drafting and preparation of witness statements and advising on disclosure.

Alpa completed her Bachelor of Laws at the University of Leicester and her Legal Practice Course at the Birmingham College of Law.
