Andrew manages Flint Bishop’s construction and engineering department and is the lead on key client relations such as SIG plc. Andrew completed his training contract at Flint Bishop Solicitors before becoming a Construction and Engineering Associate at Eversheds LLP where Andrew practised both contentious and non-contentious law, before returning to Flint Bishop Solicitors in 2014.
Andrew advises on both contentious and non-contentious construction and engineering projects and has built a strong rapport reputation for effectively delivering on complex development/installation projects. Andrew frequently advises on multi-million-pound commercial developments and engineering projects, adjudications and litigation in the Technology and Construction Court.
Prior to becoming a Solicitor, Andrew qualified and worked for six years as a mechanical design and project engineer designing bespoke acoustic enclosures for industrial machinery, integrated heating and cooling systems for large commercial properties and detailed shop signage for clients such as Sainsbury’s, Next and HMV.
Andrew aims to provide a high quality, straightforward, cost-transparent legal service to all his clients with a view to creating and maintaining a trusted relationship. "I was first introduced to Andrew whilst trying to negotiate and facilitate a major contract for Bowers Electricals. Andrew has since been invaluable to all the Bowers associated companies where we have found the need to negotiate terms and conditions for several major contracts. Many of the projects that we undertake have been operated under JCT or MF/1 type contract documents and Andrew has been able to negotiate and assist us agreeing on contract terms that have worked to the benefit of all contracting parties and suitably protected our various businesses. Where there has been the need to negotiate special contractual terms outside of the standard forms of contract Andrew has been able to advise and enable final contract terms to be successfully agreed. I would have no hesitation in recommending Andrew and consider him invaluable when negotiating these types of contract and in resolving any issues in the unlikely event of a dispute. Andrew’s prior experience of actually being in the construction industry before becoming a solicitor specialising in construction and engineering is refreshing as it clearly helps him to understand the practical issues as well as the legal ones."
Michael Bowers, Managing Director, Bowers Group of Companies
Over the last few years, EPES has grown quite significantly in the private HV network sector. EPES has always had a Blue Chip client base. Due to more demand from our clients regarding placing orders and contracts, we have had to take legal advice to ensure EPES’s position in the market is protected. I was introduced to Andrew in 2015 when we started negotiations to secure two large contracts. Andrew was given an outline of our requirements along with the contractual documents issued by our clients. Andrew negotiated directly with our client’s representatives and we were successful in gaining two orders with an order value in excess of £1,500,000. Andrew was very knowledgeable regarding the law, especially as there were two separate contracts, one based on JCT and the other on MF/1. Andrew was always very polite and pleasant, but always very authoritative on what we needed to do.

I have commissioned Andrew Perry to provide legal advice and support to a number of construction projects at the college. I have always found Andrew to be very direct and honest in his advice and this has formed the basis for an ongoing and successful business relationship. He has a good understanding of technical and commercial aspects of the construction industry and is able to succinctly get to the heart of a problem. I would have no hesitation in recommending his services.
Tom Stevens, Executive Director, West Nottinghamshire College
Andrew Perry is an expert in his field and delivers excellent results whilst maintaining a down-to-earth manner resulting in him becoming an integral member of our team. Andrew has overseen SIG’s engagement in all of its innovative volumetric residential development projects throughout the country and our continued involvement in the construction of timber educational facilities. Andrew has proved himself to be an impressive litigator on the rare occasions that we have needed his input and his “pre-litigation/adjudication” advice has greatly assisted in the early resolution of disputes and maintaining our relationships with our customers, saving us time and money. I would have no hesitation recommending Andrew’s services.
