Laura Evans advises on all aspects of employment law and HR issues, from the initial recruitment process through to the end of employment.

Her areas of expertise include performance management, organisational change, contracts of employment, pay disputes, TUPE matters, discrimination and equality issues, dismissals, whistleblowing and industrial relations.

Working in close partnership with her clients, Laura believes in building strong working relationships with key stakeholders to achieve their objectives with minimal risk and expenditure.

Laura specialises in supporting employers in the education sector.

She provides support and advice on applying local authority policies and procedures, as well as advising on the terms and conditions contained within the Burgundy and Green Books, the STPCDs and their application to teaching and support staff.

In addition to her legal qualifications, Laura is also an ‘Associate Teacher’, having completed a Level 3 Award in Education and Training. This has provided Laura with valuable insight into the practical and operational requirements of educational establishments, allowing her to fully understand the roles, responsibilities and relationships within education and training environments. Having this inside knowledge enables Laura to specifically tailor her advice for each client and deliver it in the most appropriate manner.

She also provides regular training sessions for school senior leadership teams and governors, offering guidance on conducting disciplinaries, family-friendly rights, TUPE, discrimination and the tribunal process.

In addition to her work within the education sector, Laura also has significant experience in representing commercial employers, charities and public bodies.

Laura completed her Bachelor of Laws at the University of Sheffield and her Legal Practice Course at Staffordshire University.
