The Government have announced plans to extend pub Licensing hours across England and Wales to mark the Queen’s 90th birthday. The proposal is subject to the normal consultation process however it is anticipated the Licensed premises will be allowed to open until 01:00 on Saturday 11 June.
You may recall that past national celebrations where the Government has extended Licensing hours have included the Royal Wedding in 2011, the Queen’s Diamond Jubilee in 2012 and the World Cup in 2014.
Whilst many Licensed premises are already open until 01:00 at the weekend it is still hoped that the extension will result in a boost to the pub sector.
