An exciting opportunity has arisen for an experienced Paralegal to join our Commercial Property team in our Birmingham office located on Bennetts Hill.

You will assist the solicitors within the department with a wide range of property matters including commercial and residential site acquisitions, commercial & residential development, funding arrangements and agreements, planning and infrastructure agreements, joint ventures and options, commercial leases and general landlord and tenant advice.

Key responsibilities

The successful candidate will be expected to demonstrate the ability to:

  • Report directly into a Senior Associate in our Commercial Property department
  • Take ownership of your own fee-earning matters as assigned
  • Running case files on behalf of key clients alongside senior members of the team
  • Perform legal research
  • Undertake file opening procedures
  • Complete Land Registry applications
  • Complete Stamp Duty Land Tax forms and submission
  • Scan documents
  • Deal with telephone enquiries and provide client updates as necessary
  • Prepare reports on title
  • Draft basic property documents
  • Put together title packs
  • Attend meetings with other fee earners and prepare notes
  • Schedule deeds and documents

You will:

  • Have a minimum of a 2:1 legal degree.
  • Have existing paralegal experience within Commercial Property or Corporate & Finance.
  • Possess excellent client care and communication skills.
  • Be a hard-working and highly motivated individual with the ability to work cohesively as part of a larger team.
