An exciting opportunity has arisen to join our Family & Matrimonial team as a solicitor.

The role of Family Solicitor is responsible for working with a range of clients, including high-net-worth individuals, and managing a caseload of complex fee-earning matters whilst growing and developing the business through active involvement in business development strategies.

The team is recognised as one of the leading family law practices in the Midlands, consistently recommended by leading directories such as The Legal 500 and Chambers and Partners.

Fee-Earning Responsibilities

  • Work independently and manage a varied caseload of complex matters that will include:
  1. Drafting, negotiating, and advising on pre and post-marital agreements.
  2. Matrimonial finance.
  3. Shareholding issues and pension disputes.
  4. Private law children disputes.
  • Conducting your own files through to conclusion.
  • Use the team’s case management system effectively.
  • Work to a consistently high standard and be self-motivated.
  • Be actively involved in marketing and business development activities.
  • Provide ongoing technical support on matters for more junior fee-earners.
  • Ensure personal legal knowledge is kept up to date and new advancements are communicated to the wider team.

Business Development

  • Work alongside the Business Development team to ensure there is a cohesive and proactive strategy to managing current and prospective clients.
  • Take an active lead in managing the client experience.
  • Build your own profile in the market.
  • Report regularly on business development figures to senior management and Head of Department.

You will

  • Ideally 3-4 years plus PQE exclusively in the field of Family Law;
  • Have a minimum of a 2:1 legal degree.
  • Possess excellent client care and communication skills.
  • Have a sound knowledge of IT systems and processes, such as the Microsoft suite.
  • Be a hard-working and highly-motivated individual with the ability to work cohesively as part of a larger team.
