HR Assistant

Due to the continual growth of the firm, we are looking for a dynamic and engaging individual to join our Human Resources team in Derby.

The HR Assistant will report directly to the Head of Human Resources and will focus mainly on recruitment and HR administration.

This is an ideal full-time role for someone who is looking to expand their all-round HR experience within a fast-paced and supportive environment.

About the role


  • Monitor all recruitment enquiries from our website, direct email and postal applications, select job boards and LinkedIn on a daily basis
  • Screen CVs and pass to the relevant hiring manager for feedback
  • Liaise with candidates throughout the interview process, including arranging and booking interviews
  • Create and list job advertisements on various recruitment platforms
  • Handle all recruitment information according to data protection regulations


  • Maintain employees’ electronic files
  • Collate data on key HR areas; labour turnover (starters and leavers), absence management and time, attendance and employee engagement
  • Administer surveys for new starters and exit interviews for leavers
  • Book meetings on behalf of the Head of Human Resources, such as return to work and maternity or paternity leave meetings

About the candidate

  • Have at least six months’ experience within a HR or recruitment role
  • Have excellent attention to detail
  • Be IT literate, especially in Microsoft Office applications
  • Be engaging and supportive within a workplace environment
