Iga Szalbierz is a Trainee Solicitor at Flint Bishop, currently undertaking a seat within the Repossession Conveyancing team as part of her Training Contract.

She joined the firm in October 2024 as a Trainee Litigation Paralegal within the Debt Recovery team, before being promoted to Litigation Paralegal in May 2025 and commencing her Training Contract in October 2025.

Iga has developed experience across debt recovery litigation and repossession conveyancing matters, supporting clients and colleagues on a range of contentious and property-related legal work. She has experience managing pre-action requests, drafting claims, supporting enforcement proceedings and preparing urgent applications, while also assisting with sales, remortgages and post-completion matters within her current seat.

Known for her proactive and collaborative approach, Iga has quickly become a valued member of the Leeds team. She is recognised for her attention to detail, strong organisational skills and willingness to support colleagues across high-volume and time-sensitive matters.

Alongside her legal work, Iga is committed to continuous development and delivering efficient, commercially minded support to clients while building her expertise across litigation and dispute resolution.

Since joining Flint Bishop, she has gained experience within the Multi-Lender Litigation team, where she managed her own caseload while supporting Fee Earners with urgent applications and hearing preparation to ensure matters were progressed efficiently and in line with Court deadlines.

Her work has involved communicating with clients, customers, the Court and third parties across a range of debt recovery litigation matters, while developing a strong understanding of the Civil Procedure Rules (CPR) and litigation processes. She has also supported enforcement proceedings, drafted claims and handled pre-action work, building a strong foundation in dispute resolution and debt recovery litigation.

Iga has played an important role in supporting the wider team by helping reduce departmental work queues, cross-skilling across different client matters and identifying efficiencies to improve productivity and service delivery. Her positive attitude and willingness to support colleagues have helped her become a trusted and well-regarded member of the team.

As part of her current seat within the Repossession Conveyancing team, Iga is continuing to broaden her technical knowledge and practical experience through work involving sales, remortgages, post-completion matters and applications to pay surplus funds into Court.

Alongside her fee-earning work, Iga is actively involved in Flint Bishop’s CSR initiatives and has worked closely with the firm’s chosen charity, Candlelighters. She has supported and organised fundraising activities including participation in the Leeds 10K and a firm-wide Walking Challenge, helping strengthen the relationship between the firm and its charity partners.
