James Parden joined Flint Bishop in July 2026 as a Partner, based in our Sheffield office.
With more than 20 years’ experience in property litigation, James advises businesses, developers, investors, landlords, occupiers and managing agents on a wide range of commercial and residential property disputes. He acts for clients across the full spectrum of contentious property matters, providing clear, commercially focused advice that helps them resolve disputes efficiently while protecting their wider business and property interests.
James is known for his pragmatic, solutions-focused approach and works closely with clients to understand their objectives before developing strategies tailored to their individual circumstances. Combining extensive technical expertise with practical commercial insight, he helps clients navigate complex property disputes with confidence, whether through negotiation, alternative dispute resolution or litigation where necessary.
Working collaboratively with colleagues across the firm, James supports clients throughout the lifecycle of their property matters, delivering seamless legal advice that reflects Flint Bishop’s client-focused approach.

James has built an excellent reputation as a property litigation specialist over the course of more than two decades in practice.
He began his legal career at Irwin Mitchell before joining Hemingway’s Solicitors. He subsequently became Head of Property Litigation at Taylor Emmet before joining BRM as an Associate in 2018. He was later promoted to Director before joining Flint Bishop in 2026.
Throughout his career, James has advised an extensive range of clients, including international property developers, financial institutions, listed companies, universities, retailers, managing agents and independent landlords. His experience spans the full range of commercial and residential property disputes, including landlord and tenant matters, lease disputes, possession claims, rights of way and easements, boundary disputes, development-related disputes, dilapidations, forfeiture and professional negligence claims relating to property matters.
Alongside his legal practice, James is actively involved in the regional legal community and currently serves as Vice President of the Sheffield & District Law Society, reflecting his longstanding commitment to the profession and the Yorkshire legal sector.
