Julian joined Flint Bishop in 2025 as Partner and Head of Department for our Commercial Property team, based in Sheffield.

He advises clients on all aspects of commercial and agricultural property, acting for buyers, sellers, landlords, and tenants across a wide range of property types, including industrial buildings, retail units, offices, hotels, restaurants, and other licensed premises.

Julian combines technical expertise with a pragmatic, client-focused approach, providing clear, commercially minded advice designed to achieve practical results, and is committed to building long-term client relationships through his approachable and determined manner.

Julian has extensive experience in acquiring and disposing of rural land holdings, including former coal authority and gravel extraction sites with complex clawback and overage provisions, mining options, and quarry and farm business tenancies.

He also handles unregistered land and advises on both commercial and agricultural matters, providing comprehensive guidance on landed estates and major rural holdings.

His experience spans acquisitions of development sites, site assemblies, options to purchase, and conditional contracts, as well as rectifying defective titles, dealing with adverse possession, granting and reserving rights and easements, and imposing positive and restrictive covenants. He is also experienced in advising on lender requirements where bank security is involved.

A significant part of Julian’s work comes from repeat clients who value his relationship-based approach. By working closely with clients over many years, he gains an in-depth understanding of their businesses, approach to risk, and property portfolios, allowing him to provide efficient, tailored advice on current and future dealings.
