With more than 25 years of experience across the commercial and residential property sectors, Richard has built a strong reputation for delivering strategic legal advice that helps clients unlock development opportunities, manage property assets, and achieve long-term business objectives.

Richard's experience

Richard specialises in commercial development, investment, asset management and property finance. His expertise spans all stages of the development process, including site acquisition and assembly, promotion and option agreements, joint ventures, development agreements, forward funding arrangements, financing structures, site setup and disposals.

He also advises commercial landlords and tenants on lease negotiations and portfolio management, acting for clients with substantial property holdings across sectors including business parks, office developments, industrial and logistics facilities, retail schemes and residential developments.

His recent work includes advising on the pre-letting of a bespoke nuclear fusion research facility for the United Kingdom Atomic Energy Authority at the Advanced Manufacturing Park in Rotherham, refinancing a significant property portfolio to support commercial development and economic regeneration projects, and completing the sale of the final phase of the former Sheffield Airport site.

By combining technical expertise with a deep understanding of the commercial drivers behind property projects, Richard helps clients successfully navigate complex transactions while maximising value and minimising risk.
