Russell Bainbridge joined Flint Bishop in August 2026 as a Partner in the Corporate team in Sheffield.

He specialises in corporate transactions and company law, with particular experience advising on mergers and acquisitions, joint ventures, employee ownership trusts, corporate reorganisations and general company law matters. Russell works with a broad range of clients, from owner-managed businesses and SMEs to listed companies, providing technically strong and commercially focused advice.

Russell has particular experience in the healthcare, waste management and manufacturing sectors. He also has specialist experience advising on the sale of businesses owned by employee ownership trusts, including disposals to trade buyers and management buyouts.

Known for his straightforward communication and pragmatic approach, Russell works closely with clients to understand their objectives and find practical solutions to complex issues. He particularly enjoys building long-term relationships and supporting clients through significant milestones in the development and future of their businesses.

Russell joined Flint Bishop in August 2026, bringing extensive experience in corporate transactions and a strong understanding of the commercial considerations involved in significant business decisions.

During his career, Russell has advised on a wide range of corporate transactions, including the sale of medical device manufacturer The Spine Corporation to Nasdaq-listed OrthoPediatrics Corp, multiple care home acquisitions for a leading UK care home provider, and a number of employee ownership trust transactions.

Russell began his legal career after graduating from Newcastle University with a degree in Business and Economics in 2008. Following several years working in industry, he joined Keebles LLP in Sheffield as a trainee solicitor and qualified in 2016, specialising in corporate law. He remained with Keebles until the firm was acquired by Knights in 2021, continuing to develop his corporate practice before being promoted to Partner in May 2025.
