Sophie Rock is a Solicitor in Flint Bishop’s Commercial Property team, based in our Derby office.
Having joined the firm in 2021, Sophie has developed a broad range of legal and commercial experience across commercial property, residential conveyancing, commercial contracts and debt recovery. She qualified as a Solicitor following the successful completion of her training contract, having undertaken her final seat within the Commercial Property team.
Sophie advises and supports clients on commercial property transactions, including commercial leases, acquisitions and disposals, overage agreements, property and land transfers, first registrations, adverse possession applications, and land purchases and sales, bringing a pragmatic and commercially focused approach to her work.
Her wider experience has also provided her with an understanding of areas including commercial contracts, data protection, intellectual property and technology matters, enabling her to appreciate the broader commercial considerations that can underpin property transactions.
People
Before commencing her training contract, Sophie progressed to Team Leader within the firm’s Debt Services department, where she supervised a large team, managed key client relationships and handled a senior-level caseload. This experience helped her develop strong client management, communication and leadership skills alongside her technical legal expertise.
Sophie is known for her attention to detail, proactive approach and commitment to providing clients and colleagues with clear, practical support. She also takes an active interest in the development of the next generation of professionals, having mentored a trainee solicitor and co-founded the Derby Young Professionals group.
