Daniel previously gained over 6 years’ experience with Irwin Mitchell and Browne Jacobson LLP leading their costs management provisions, Daniel is highly experienced to lead our Costs division.
Daniel has many years’ experience in dealing with both defendant and claimant cost disputes. Daniel now provides costs services across the firm, dealing with a wide range of costs litigation from the various teams and disciplines with a particular skill set in high-value personal injury work.
Currently, Daniel holds a varied caseload from low-value fixed-fee RTA claims to high-value complex litigation with costs sought in excess of £500,000, providing yearly savings to clients in excess of £1.5 million. Daniel is able to deal with all types of costs cases and range values. He is also experienced in dealing with own costs court hearings and advocacy. In addition, he has great ability to spot trends within claimed costs which achieves a significant saving for clients.
Daniel has a proven track record in drafting points of dispute, which has led to significant reductions on assessment. His drafting ability, combined with the accuracy provided in respect of the predicted reductions on assessment, allows for strong Part 36 offers to be made, and in turn, the additional recovery of defendant assessment costs.
Furthermore, Daniel is a strong costs advocate and has extensive experience in dealing with costs management; from the initial costs budgeting process through to advocacy at the CCMC and detailed assessment in both cost managed and non-costs management cases.
- Currently dealing with a case where the claimed costs exceed £800,000 and has recently attended Mediation with the Claimant.
- Many years’ experience as an Advocate and regularly attends CCMCs and Detailed Assessments nationwide.
- Designed and delivered costs training packages for clients, focusing on MOJ Portal fixed costs, standard costs and recent case law.
