Sam Shepherd joined Flint Bishop in our Commercial Property team as a Partner in July 2023.

Recognised as a highly skilled real estate lawyer, Sam deals with a wide range of property matters, including option agreements, acquisitions and disposals, leases, funding, sub-sales, infrastructure agreements, and collaboration agreements.

Sam’s particular expertise lies in commercial development, with a focus on brownfield urban development sites. She has successfully collaborated with numerous developers and managed all aspects of commercial development, such as conditional purchase agreements, forward funding agreements, and development agreements.

Her most notable work highlights include:

  • Overseeing a complex PRS development in Manchester for a property developer, including land assembly matters, infrastructure, and forward funding, with an estimated gross development value (GDV) exceeding £120m.
  • Acting for a developer on the development and forward funding of tower block student accommodation sites in Leeds (with a GDV of over £68m) and Coventry (with a GDV of over £67m).
  • Advising an investor client on the sale of a shopping centre subject to occupational lease.
  • Acting for a national retailer on numerous lettings across the UK including conditional agreements for lease.
