Briony McDermott advises on contentious and non-contentious employment-related matters for businesses of all sizes.
She is well-known for being approachable and friendly and is commended for the effort that she makes to get to know a business to enable her to provide practical, straightforward advice whilst being mindful of her clients’ goals.
In addition to her legal advice, Briony also regularly provides face-to-face or online legal updates, training and HR forums in relation to the latest legal developments.

Briony has over 10 years’ experience practicing employment law for both private and commercial clients and has gained specific knowledge of the education, agricultural, construction and care sectors.
Throughout her career, Briony has advised employers on a range of employment law matters including drafting contracts of employment, handbooks and a range of bespoke policies, and negotiation of settlement and compromise agreements.
She also has significant experience in dealing with redundancy processes, restructures and TUPE matters, and the legal implications of such reorganisations.
Briony completed her law degree at Sheffield Hallam University and is a member of the Employment Lawyers Association and Industrial Law Society.
