We are pleased to announce that Kerry Brownley has joined our Insurance Litigation department as a Large Loss Solicitor at our Birmingham office.

Kerry has a wealth of experience in both civil and criminal litigation and has developed in-depth knowledge of the litigation process, particularly pre-action matters in respect of large loss multi-track personal injury cases arising from road traffic accidents.

She has held numerous insurance litigation roles at national law firms including Shakespeare Martineau (SHMA) and Keoghs, and most recently global legal provider DWF.

During her tenure at SHMA, Kerry was an integral member of the Insurance and Business Solutions team, working on predominantly multi-track personal injury claims following road traffic accidents. After working within the team for around 5 months, Kerry was quickly promoted to Senior Litigation Legal Assistance and subsequently remained in the team to qualify as a Solicitor in May 2020.

Throughout her career to date, Kerry has assisted on a multitude of high-value cases, involving various injuries such as brain injuries, amputations, chronic pain, and orthopaedic problems, which ranged in value from £1 million up to the biggest case, reserved at £20 million. She has also gained exposure in assisting with matters with indemnity issues and, assisted with undertaking investigations prior to providing advice to insurer clients.

Head of Insurance Litigation Anthony Carrington said: “I am confident that Kerry will be an excellent addition to our Large Loss team as we continue to strengthen our working relationship with key insurer clients in managing technically complex, high-value motor and casualty claims, including cases with injuries of the utmost severity. I am certain that her expertise and experience will be of immense value to our team and clients.”
