As we continue to grow nationally, both in scale and complexity, we have strengthened our senior legal expertise with the promotion of Rebecca Burrows to Partner and her appointment as Legal Counsel to Flint Bishop.

The newly established role reflects the continued development of the firm and will provide dedicated senior in-house legal support to our leadership team and wider business. Rebecca will help protect the firm’s legal and commercial interests, support strategic decision-making and provide legal scrutiny across significant business initiatives, contractual arrangements and areas of legal risk.

Supporting Flint Bishop’s continued growth

As Legal Counsel, Rebecca will advise on the legal implications of our strategy, growth plans, investments, acquisitions and other significant business decisions. Her remit will also include material commercial contracts, major tenders and panel appointments, significant disputes and potential liabilities, and the legal and commercial risks arising from the firm’s operations and strategic projects.

Rebecca will also support the development of appropriate governance arrangements for new business structures, services and initiatives, while providing legal interpretation and strategic advice on complex or novel matters affecting the firm.

The position is distinct from, and complementary to, our existing Compliance function. Responsibility for regulatory compliance, including SRA requirements, anti-money laundering, regulatory reporting, complaints and COLP responsibilities, will remain with the relevant Compliance role holders and functions.

Rebecca will work closely with our Head of Compliance and COLP where matters require legal interpretation, strategic judgement or specialist legal input, helping to bring together the appropriate legal, regulatory and commercial perspectives.

Progressing from Paralegal to Partner

Rebecca joined Flint Bishop in 2015 and has developed an extensive understanding of both the legal and operational aspects of the firm throughout her career.

Having progressed from Paralegal to Trainee Solicitor, Rebecca qualified as a solicitor in 2020 and became our first Practice Management Solicitor. In that role, she has supported numerous strategically important and confidential projects across the business, with the breadth and significance of her contribution continuing to grow.

Rebecca was promoted to Associate in 2022 and Senior Associate in 2024. Her latest promotion sees her become a Partner within 11 years of joining the firm, completing a progression from Paralegal, Trainee and Solicitor through to Associate, Senior Associate and now Partner.

Her combination of legal expertise, commercial judgement and detailed knowledge of Flint Bishop will be central to establishing and developing the Legal Counsel role as we continue to grow.

Rebecca’s promotion reflects both her significant contribution to the firm and our commitment to developing legal talent and creating opportunities for long-term career progression within Flint Bishop.
