Led by the University of Derby and sponsored by us, Network of Entrepreneurs gave local, national and international innovators the chance to meet Derby students and to share their knowledge and expertise.
The event was attended by more than 70 key business minds and over 40 students, offering a great insight into the support that the university and its supporters can offer to entrepreneurs.
Bob Betts, of Smiths Clocks, praised Network of Entrepreneurs;
“The University of Derby’s latest support network for budding entrepreneurs was a fantastic event. I am proud to say I was there to see it start and meet tomorrow’s leaders in the making. Joining Derby’s business leaders and our own local successful entrepreneurs was exciting enough but meeting the students who have already grabbed the chance to start their own small enterprise was fantastic. I do not believe any other university is as employer, career and success-focused for their students as Derby is.”
Andrew Cochrane added;
“We were delighted to partner with the University of Derby at the Network of Entrepreneurs event. It was great to see the students networking with local businesses and existing entrepreneurs, and there was a real buzz as the evening progressed. This project ties in with our passion for our city and our existing programme of working with young people, and we look forward to working with the new businesses as they develop. We are planning on running a series of legal workshops designed to help the students understand how the law affects their ideas.@
