We are pleased to announce that Charlotte Dugdale-Tonks has joined us as a Senior Associate in our Wills, Probate, Tax & Trusts team, based in our York office.

Charlotte joins us from Irwin Mitchell, where she was an Associate within a Tier 1 Legal 500 Private Client team, advising on a high-quality and complex caseload. She brings more than 18 years of specialist private client experience, with a strong focus on supporting high-net-worth individuals and families with succession planning, complex estate administration, and tax-efficient structuring.

Her technical expertise covers the full breadth of high-level private client work, including succession planning, estate administration, asset protection, and the preparation of Wills, Lasting Powers of Attorney, Trusts, and related documentation. She also has significant experience in the registration of trusts with HMRC’s Trust Registration Service.

Charlotte routinely advises on multi-million-pound estates involving business assets and intergenerational wealth planning. She is known for her ability to support clients through sensitive and often complex family circumstances, providing clear, practical advice that is both technically robust and tailored to individual needs.

Alongside her technical capability, Charlotte brings strong business development experience. She previously owned and ran her own private client practice, Legacy Wills, and has developed a loyal client base alongside longstanding referral relationships with independent financial advisers, accountants, and other professional advisers across York, Harrogate, and Manchester.

She has a proven track record of developing and sustaining her own pipeline of work, building trusted adviser relationships and consistently delivering high levels of client service. This commercial awareness and relationship strength will be a valuable addition to our team as we continue to grow our presence in the region.

In her new role, Charlotte will play a key part in managing a significant and varied private client caseload, supporting junior colleagues, and contributing to our wider business development activity within the Wills, Probate, Tax & Trusts team.

We are delighted to welcome Charlotte to the firm and look forward to the experience, insight, and leadership she brings to our York office.
