Dal brings with him more than 20 years’ experience in senior IT management roles, having worked at organisations such as the Metropolitan Police and Ministry of Justice, before moving into the legal field as Head of IT Strategy, Architecture and Engagement for Irwin Mitchell in 2012, and IT Director at national law firm Shakespeare Martineau (SHMA) in 2018.

In his last role, Dal was credited with leading and implementing the IT strategy of the firm to ensure the modernisation of the IT function, embedding of industry-standard IT disciplines and strengthening information security via various certifications and accreditations.

His key work highlights to date include:

  • Ownership of a transformational programme for the successful design and delivery of an end user compute environment for 2500+ users, across 9 locations and servicing many hundreds of business applications. Total budget for the programme was in excess of £2m.
  • Technical programme lead for the harmonisation of a significant acquisition, growing the organisation by almost 30% in additional headcount, increasing UK coverage through five additional offices and increasing turnover by approximately £30m.
  • Development of a digital strategy and transformation roadmap enabling end state architecture designed to embrace client centricity, operational effectiveness and to harness existing data to leverage sector advancement and increased revenue opportunities.

In his new role, Dal will be working alongside the Management Board and Executive Team to take the lead on our strategic and transformative IT initiatives, closely supporting the ambitious growth strategies of the firm.

Dal said: “I am really pleased to have joined Flint Bishop at such an exciting period of transformation at the firm. I am a big believer that IT excellence can make a positive impact on the organisational goals of any business, so I plan to invest time with my new colleagues to find ways to support them.

“I look forward to continuing to drive innovation through information security, applications, networking and operations to support the firm’s continued growth.”

Chief Executive Qamer Ghafoor added: “Dal’s arrival is a significant appointment for Flint Bishop and demonstrates that we are serious about improving our IT capabilities.

“In this newly created role, Dal will be tasked with taking the firm to the next level in terms of our IT strategies, disruptive technology, exec-level product and solutions assurance, cyber security, business process optimisation, business requirement analysis and any pre and post-acquisition support.

“I strongly believe that with Dal’s vision and expertise, he will help us gear up for further growth and improve efficiencies, in addition to supporting the ever-increasing IT requirements for both our clients and employees.”
