Hot on the heels of winning the ‘Award for Innovation’ at the Halsbury Legal Awards, Flint Bishop is now on the shortlist for the ultimate award in the legal profession: the ‘Law Firm of the Year Award’ in The Lawyer Awards 2013.
Out of 450 nominations for the various award categories, the judges selected only seven firms for the ‘Law Firm of the Year Award’ shortlist. These include Flint Bishop, a Magic Circle firm and other firms with a strong international or national presence.
Organised by The Lawyer magazine, The Lawyer Awards celebrate excellence in the legal profession across private practice, the public sector, the Bar, commerce and industry.
As well as assembling a senior advisory judging panel taken from City institutions and the media, The Lawyer carries out its own research to make the Awards the most thorough and accurate reflection of the commercial legal market.
Ian Beardmore says:
“We are delighted to have been shortlisted for the ‘Law Firm of the Year Award’ as it’s an important reflection of our achievements.
We have an exceptional annual growth projection of 15%, which according to Deloitte’s Annual Legal Survey is double that of the Top 100 law firms at just 6.6%. We have also increased staff numbers by 15.8% in the last 12 months in an industry where redundancy is common.
We have focused on departments such as licensing which now has clients such as Marston’s and Heineken; and our commercial property department which advised on over £150m worth of deals last year.
We have also had great success with our fixed-fee employment law and HR service, FB Support. It has seen us win 169 new clients in a year, including Loomis UK Ltd, National Windscreens and Tchibo Coffee International Ltd. The innovative service gives clients access to over 80 templates, procedures and ‘How To’ video guides via a secure website, accessible 24/7 via PC, smartphone or tablet”.
The winners of the Awards will be announced on 25 June 2013 at a glittering awards ceremony at London’s Grosvenor House Hotel.
