Out of 450 nominations for the various award categories, the judges selected only seven firms for the ‘Law Firm of the Year Award’ shortlist.

Organised by The Lawyer magazine, The Lawyer Awards celebrate excellence in the legal profession across private practice, the public sector, the Bar, commerce and industry.

Shortlisted firms include Flint Bishop, a magic circle firm and other firms with a strong international or national presence.

As well as assembling a senior advisory judging panel taken from City institutions and the media, The Lawyer carries out its own research to make the Awards the most thorough and accurate reflection of the commercial legal market.

The winners of the Awards will be announced on Tuesday 25 June 2013 at a glittering awards ceremony. Ian Beardmore commented on the firm’s shortlist achievement:

“We are delighted to have been shortlisted for the ‘Law Firm of the Year Award’ as it’s an important reflection of our achievements. We have an exceptional annual growth projection of 15%, which according to Deloitte’s Annual Legal Survey is double that of the Top 100 law firms at just 6.6%. We have also increased staff numbers by 15.8% in the last 12 months in an industry where redundancy is common. We have focused on teams such as Licensing which now has clients such as Marston’s and Heineken; and our Property team, which advised on over £150m worth of deals last year.”
