Flint Bishop has advised family-run waste management company Willshees Group on its acquisition of the business and assets of Jones Skips in Wolverhampton, further expanding the Group’s operations across the Midlands.
The deal marks Willshees Group’s second acquisition in two years and represents another significant step in its growth strategy, expanding its waste management and recycling capabilities while safeguarding 80 jobs at Jones Skips.
It follows the Group’s acquisition of Midlands waste solutions provider Stanton Recycling in 2024, as Willshees continues to invest in growing its regional presence and service offering.
Founded in 1998, Jones Skips has built a strong reputation for skip hire and waste management services across Wolverhampton and the surrounding area. Bringing the business into Willshees Group combines the experience, local knowledge and customer-focused approach of both businesses, while providing a broader platform for continued growth.
Flint Bishop provided legal advice to Willshees Group, with the transaction led by Partner and Head of Corporate, Martyn Brierley, supported by members of the wider deals team including Charlotte Harris, Russell Bainbridge, Stacey Cox and Sam Skelton.
Martyn said:
“We are delighted to have supported Willshees Group on this important acquisition. The transaction represents another significant step in the Group’s growth strategy. It was a pleasure to work alongside the Willshees team and its advisers to deliver the transaction, and we look forward to continuing to support the Group as it pursues its future ambitions.”
Dean Willshee, Managing Director of Willshees Group, said:
“Jones Skips has built a strong reputation throughout the area, and we’re pleased to have brought such an established business into the Group. Combining these businesses enables us to bring our comprehensive waste and recycling solutions to more organisations across the region.”
Birmingham-based Marktlink UK acted as lead adviser to Willshees Group, supporting management in assessing the acquisition and advising on valuation, negotiation and deal structure. The Marktlink team was led by UK Managing Partner Joe Moran.
