We are pleased to announce that Kelly Savage has been promoted to the position of Senior Associate within the Commercial Dispute Resolution department today.

Kelly has been an invaluable member of the firm since she joined Flint Bishop as a Paralegal in the Debt Recovery department in 2014. She then went on to secure a training contract in 2016, qualifying as a solicitor in the Commercial Dispute Resolution team and gained promotion to Associate in December 2021.

During her time with us, Kelly has been instrumental in managing partner-led matters, including multi-million-pound complex cases against major national firms. She has also successfully handled her own caseload, showcasing her meticulous approach and remarkable ability to recall niche details that have contributed to her pragmatic, strategic, and commercial advice.

Kelly’s list of achievements includes working with renowned clients such as LexisNexis, The Football Association Premier League Limited, Henry Boot Developments Limited, and The National Trust, and she enjoys active working relationships with a number of the firm’s major clients. Her experience covers various aspects of complex commercial litigation, including contractual disputes, shareholder disputes, professional negligence, and property litigation. She has also excelled in managing complex insurance-related claims and cross-border supply disputes within the waste and recycling sector.

In addition to her day-to-day responsibilities, Kelly has played an integral role in several reported High Court and Court of Appeal judgments, highlighting her legal prowess and expertise. Her achievements in cases such as Create Financial Management LLP -v- Lee & Anor [2020] EWHC 1933 (QB), [2020] EWHC 2046 (QB); Butcher & Anor -v- Pike & Ors [2020] EWHC 3362 (QB); and Butcher & Anor -v- Pike & Ors [2021] EWCA Civ 1407 have been particularly noteworthy.

Kelly’s outstanding performance has recently attracted noteworthy recognition in the legal industry. The Legal 500 2024 has honoured her as a ‘Rising Star,’ describing her as “Bright, diligent, and a pleasure to work with”. She has also been named as an ‘Associate to Watch’ in this year’s Chambers UK rankings, marking her debut in this prestigious list.

Her promotion to Senior Associate is a testament to her exceptional contributions, especially her outstanding financial contribution. She is a highly active member of the team, specialising in multiple facets of complex commercial litigation and isn’t afraid to tackle niche areas, quickly becoming well-versed in complex case histories and the relevant areas of law.

In addition, Kelly has consistently displayed her commitment to our firm’s growth and development. She regularly contributes articles and content for our website, and her collaboration with Nick Wells, Partner & Head of Dispute Resolution, on lead articles for LexisNexis PSL is highly commendable. Kelly has also actively participated in the development of our new case management system, aiming to improve efficiencies within the department.

Chief Executive Qamer Ghafoor said: “Over the years, Kelly has worked incredibly closely with me on several high-value complex matters. I have always been impressed with her and she is always a pleasure to work with. I’m delighted to reward Kelly with this very well-deserved promotion.”
