Alice joined Flint Bishop in September 2025 as Senior Registry Clerk in our Ecclesiastical & Charities team.

In her role, she advises on faculty procedures for any internal or external works within churches and churchyards, ensuring compliance with faculty jurisdiction rules and the Chancellor of York’s memorial regulations. Alice also drafts licensing documentation for clergy and provides guidance on general legal matters within the Diocese.

Alice is known for her approachable, down-to-earth manner and puts clients at the heart of everything she does. She acts as a friendly, reliable point of contact, guiding petitioners through their applications and always going the extra mile to resolve issues quickly and efficiently. Her practical, client-focused approach ensures that every matter receives clear, careful attention.

Alice works closely with the Chancellor of York, the Archbishop of York’s office, and the Diocesan Advisory Committee (DAC) using the online faculty system, helping petitioners track progress and navigate the process. She advises on gravespace, memorial, and exhumation applications, providing clear guidance at every stage.

In addition to licensing within the Diocese of York, Alice now drafts Overseas Permissions, manages marriage licences, and assists with Registry work in the Diocese of Sodor and Man. She also occasionally supports work in the Leeds Registry, bringing her expertise to a broader regional scope.

Alice prides herself on maintaining strong working relationships with colleagues, which enables the team to resolve matters efficiently and collaboratively. Her combination of technical knowledge, client-first ethos, and personable nature ensures a seamless experience for all who seek her guidance.
