Kate Saunders is a Senior Associate Solicitor in our Dispute Resolution team, specialising in Wills, Trusts and Estates disputes.

With a background in private client work before focusing exclusively on contentious matters, Kate is regarded as a “safe pair of hands” by both clients and professionals. She is known for her personable and empathetic style, offering transparent advice in what is often a highly sensitive and emotive area of law. Whether securing a settlement or representing clients through to a final hearing, she ensures they remain fully involved and informed throughout.

Kate provides clear, pragmatic, and client-focused advice to help navigate complex inheritance and trust disputes. She has extensive experience representing clients at mediation and in court proceedings, always with an emphasis on achieving cost-effective, practical outcomes.

Kate joined Flint Bishop in September 2025, having previously worked at Lupton Fawcett, IDR Law, and Irwin Mitchell. With over 20 years of experience in the legal sector, she qualified as a solicitor in 2013 and has since developed broad expertise across the full spectrum of contentious probate and trust disputes.

Her work includes disputes over funeral arrangements, challenges to the validity of Wills and lifetime transactions, claims for financial provision under the Inheritance Act, and complex high net worth estate matters. She also advises on trustee and executor disputes, equitable trust issues, promised asset and proprietary estoppel claims, misappropriation of assets, trust and tax disputes, and rectification of drafting errors. Kate has represented a wide range of clients, from individuals to trust corporations, and has acted in cases heard at the Royal Courts of Justice, some resulting in published judgments.

She is an associate member of ACTAPS (the Association of Contentious Trust and Probate Specialists) and a member of ConTrA (the Contentious Trusts Association), reflecting her commitment to maintaining the highest standards in this specialist field. Kate places a strong emphasis on client care, building trust, and delivering clear, practical solutions.
