Louise is a Partner in our Ecclesiastical team and a senior ecclesiastical lawyer with over 30 years’ experience.

She advises the Archbishop of York, bishops, clergy, PCCs, and churchwardens on matters including faculty law, ordinations, clergy licensing, pastoral reorganisation, safeguarding, and clergy discipline. Louise is approachable, responsive, and committed to providing clear, practical guidance, supporting the mission of the Church of England while ensuring clients navigate complex ecclesiastical law with confidence.

Louise joined Flint Bishop in September 2025, having previously worked at Lupton Fawcett for almost 30 years.

She is Registrar of the Province and Diocese of York, and of the Diocese of Sodor and Man, and also serves as Registrar of Tribunals for the Northern Province. Louise regularly speaks at training events, seminars, and conferences, consistently refered to as practical and to the point, and is accredited by the ILM as an ILM Exceptional Trainer. She is a member of the Ecclesiastical Law Society and Ecclesiastical Law Association and has contributed to key working parties on the reform of the Clergy Discipline Measure.

Her specialties include Ecclesiastical Law, Clergy Discipline Measure, Faculty Jurisdiction, Safeguarding, and Data Protection (GDPR).
