Malcolm Simpson joined Flint Bishop in November 2025 as Managing Partner for the North, overseeing the firm’s Leeds, Sheffield, and York offices. In this leadership role, he is responsible for driving the firm’s northern strategy and strengthening its presence across key regional markets.

Working in close collaboration with the Executive Leadership Team, Malcolm leads strategic initiatives designed to accelerate growth through organic expansion, targeted lateral hires, team integrations, and selective acquisitions — reinforcing Flint Bishop’s position as a leading national law firm.

A highly respected law firm leader and accomplished disputes specialist, Malcolm brings a proven track record of transformation, profitability, and cultural renewal. His leadership is defined by a commitment to innovation, client service excellence, and sustainable performance.

With more than three decades of experience in complex dispute resolution and senior management, Malcolm is widely recognised for his expertise in strategic leadership, operational excellence, governance, and business transformation.

Malcolm served as Managing Partner of Walker Morris LLP between 2018 and 2024, leading the firm through a period of record financial performance and modernisation.

Under his leadership, turnover increased from £42 million to £74 million, growth achieved without increasing headcount. He implemented major reforms to the firm’s governance structure, partner reward model, and operational strategy, while also enhancing staff engagement, retention, and diversity. His tenure was marked by a culture of collaboration, innovation, and sustainable and profitable growth.

Before becoming Managing Partner, Malcolm spent 18 years as a partner at Walker Morris (2000–2018), where he built a market-leading disputes practice with a strong international client base. He has advised FTSE 250, Fortune 500, and private equity–backed businesses across the UK, US, and Europe, with particular expertise in the manufacturing, power generation, and real estate development sectors.

Earlier in his career, Malcolm worked at other national law firms, always based in Leeds and has played a key role in the growth of the city’s legal market over the past 35 years.

Malcolm is a CEDR accredited mediator, an experienced arbitrator (FCIArb, 2014), and completed the FT’s Non-Executive Diploma in 2024.
