Michelle Rock is a Trade Mark Formalities Assistant in our Intellectual Property team, based in Leeds.

She manages trade mark and design portfolios in the UK and internationally, collaborating with trade mark attorneys across jurisdictions to protect and strengthen clients’ intellectual property rights.

Michelle is known for her approachable and down-to-earth manner, taking the time to understand each client’s business, reviewing their objectives in detail to prepare thorough trade mark specifications that provide the right level of protection. Her focus is always on ensuring that clients receive clear, practical guidance and confidence that their intellectual property is secure.

Michelle joined Flint Bishop from Lutpon Fawcett in September 2025, bringing with her over 20 years of experience in Intellectual Property.

During her career, she has gained extensive knowledge of managing large-scale trade mark and design portfolios, preparing renewal schedules, and coordinating the renewal process to safeguard client rights. She has also advised on changes of name, address, and ownership, as well as guided clients through new applications with tailored advice following detailed trade mark searches.

Her work frequently involves monitoring trade mark watch notifications, identifying potential conflicts, and advising clients on the risks posed by third-party applications. Michelle has also played an important role in supporting opposition and revocation processes, liaising with colleagues and the UKIPO to ensure actions are managed effectively and deadlines are consistently met.

Michelle’s combination of technical expertise and client-focused approach has made her a trusted advisor for businesses looking to protect and manage their intellectual property, both domestically and internationally.
