Paul Tyler-Burke is an Associate in the Defendant Personal Injury team at Flint Bishop, specialising in credit hire litigation.

He joined the firm in May 2026 and brings over 20 years’ experience in motor claims defence, fraud investigation, and complex credit hire disputes for insurer and corporate clients.

He has a strong background in managing high-volume, fast-track and multi-track litigated claims involving credit hire, personal injury, and motor damage. Paul is experienced in handling both fraudulent and non-fraudulent claims, providing clear, risk-focused advice and supporting clients in reaching early, commercially effective outcomes.

Paul works closely with insurers and claims teams to ensure matters are progressed efficiently and in line with client service level agreements. His approach is methodical and commercially aware, with a focus on robust litigation strategy, accurate assessment of liability and quantum, and timely resolution.

Paul’s depth of experience across fraud, credit hire and motor litigation enables him to deliver clear, commercially focused advice and support clients in achieving efficient and defensible outcomes throughout the lifecycle of a claim.

Paul was admitted as a Solicitor in March 1999 and has built a long-standing career in defendant insurance litigation, with a particular focus on motor fraud and credit hire defence work.

Prior to joining Flint Bishop, he worked at DAC Beachcroft Claims Ltd in Birmingham, where he held senior fee-earning roles within specialist motor fraud and vehicle hire damage teams. In this role, he was responsible for a substantial caseload of litigated matters involving complex credit hire disputes and suspected fraudulent claims.

His work regularly involved advising insurer clients on indemnity, liability and quantum, supported by detailed legal analysis and case strategy recommendations. He managed all aspects of litigation from instruction through to trial preparation, including drafting defences, witness statements and schedules, and ensuring full compliance with procedural and client requirements.

Paul also appeared at Case Management Conferences, Directions Hearings and interim applications, and has extensive experience dealing with technical credit hire issues, including valuation disputes and evidential challenges.

Earlier in his career, Paul held roles at RSA Legal within an in-house RTA defence team and at DAC Beachcroft in a technical credit hire validation capacity, giving him a comprehensive understanding of both insurer operations and litigated defence strategy.
