National law firm Flint Bishop has today announced the successful acquisition of the entire business and assets of Lupton Fawcett LLP, a move that significantly expands its presence across the north of England.

Finalised on Monday 29 September, the deal brings 83 new employees into the firm’s offices in Leeds, Sheffield, and York, further strengthening its regional capability and client offering.

This expansion builds on Flint Bishop’s established private client expertise—spanning Family, Residential Property, and Wills, Trusts & Estates—while further strengthening its Corporate & Commercial, Real Estate, Employment, and Dispute Resolution services.

In addition, the acquisition broadens the firm’s capabilities with new specialist practices, including Business Recovery & Insolvency, Regulatory & Corporate Defence, Ecclesiastical & Charities, and Intellectual Property.

With this latest acquisition, Flint Bishop now boasts a team of over 420 professionals across seven UK offices and is on course to deliver annual revenues exceeding £40 million in the current financial year.

Qamer Ghafoor, Chief Executive of Flint Bishop, said:

“We are delighted to confirm the successful acquisition of the entire business of Lupton Fawcett, a highly respected full-service law firm with a strong heritage and outstanding reputation across Yorkshire and beyond. I warmly welcome our new colleagues in Leeds, Sheffield, and York, and we look forward to supporting them with exciting opportunities for growth and career development.

This acquisition represents a major step forward in our expansion across the north of England. With active recruitment underway, it strengthens our position in Leeds, Sheffield, and York, while continuing Flint Bishop’s strong growth trajectory—broadening our capabilities, extending our reach, and enabling us to deliver even greater results for clients nationwide.”

PKF Smith Cooper served as retained advisors to Flint Bishop, with Armstrong Watson and Myerson Solicitors advising Lupton Fawcett throughout the transaction.
