Flint Bishop is pleased to announce it has acted as lead legal advisor to Bowmer + Kirkland Group in its acquisition of Denton Associates (Group) Limited, a London-based specialist in office interiors and fit-out.

The acquisition represents a significant milestone for both businesses. Bowmer + Kirkland, one of the UK’s largest privately-owned construction and development groups with a turnover of £1.3bn, will expand its interiors capability through the integration of Denton, a £40m turnover business renowned for its design-led approach to CAT A, CAT A+ and CAT B office fit-outs.

Founded 30 years ago by Mike Halewood, Denton has established a strong reputation for delivering innovative and collaborative workplace environments. Under its new ownership, the company will continue to operate under the Denton brand with its existing leadership team, while benefiting from the scale, resources, and stability of the Bowmer + Kirkland Group.

Jack Kirkland, Chairman of Bowmer + Kirkland, commented:

“We are delighted to welcome Denton into the Bowmer + Kirkland Group. Their track record of growth, creativity and client focus makes them a natural fit with our values. Together, we can expand opportunities, deliver larger and more ambitious projects, and continue to raise standards in office design and fit-out.”

Mike Halewood, Founder of Denton, added:

“This is a hugely exciting new chapter for Denton. Being acquired by Bowmer + Kirkland Group gives us the scale and stability to deliver even greater value for our clients – while keeping our commitment to design excellence, responsible operations and creating workplaces that support health, wellbeing and collaboration.”

The transaction was led by Partner & Head of Corporate, Martyn Brierley, and Partner Mark Wilcock, with additional expertise provided by Janet Rhodes, Haroon Younis, Joseph Weston, Robert Devine, and Jessica Ryan-Dawkins from Flint Bishop’s Real Estate, Commercial, Corporate and Employment teams.

Martyn Brierley, Partner & Head of Corporate at Flint Bishop, said:

“We are delighted to have advised Bowmer + Kirkland on their latest strategic acquisition. Denton is a fantastic addition to the Group, and it was a pleasure to once again support the business as it continues to grow and diversify. Congratulations to all involved on a successful transaction.”
