Flint Bishop has made two senior promotions at its Derby office effective 01 July 2024.

Daniel Askew has been promoted to Partner in the Costs team, whilst Elliot Metcalf has been appointed Senior Associate within the firm’s Residential Conveyancing department.

Dan joined Flint Bishop in October 2016 as a Costs Draftsman in our Insurance Litigation team, bringing with him extensive experience from national firms. His exceptional skills and dedication quickly became evident, leading to his promotion to Associate in July 2019 and Senior Associate in April 2021.

Dan possesses a unique understanding of both claimant and defendant costs work at the highest levels, which has earned him a formidable reputation in the industry. He is a trusted member of the team and is considered to be the ‘go-to person’ for both colleagues and clients on all cost-related matters, always ready to provide technical and strategic advice.

Elliot joined Flint Bishop in September 2016 as a Conveyancing Executive. With over 14 years of expertise in local, regional, and national conveyancing transactions – including freehold sales, leasehold sales, new build sales, and remortgages – Elliot’s experience is highly valued by both the team and the wider firm.

During his 8 years with Flint Bishop, Elliot has played a key role in supporting many of the changes experienced within the Conveyancing team. He has provided crucial support by working alongside our IT and Systems Development teams to implement new processes and ensure efficiency for the team, ultimately enhancing service delivery for our clients.

Qamer Ghafoor, Chief Executive of Flint Bishop, added: “I would like to congratulate Daniel and Elliot on their well-deserved promotions. Their significant experience and expertise are highly valued by both their respective teams and the wider firm. I look forward to their continued contributions and success in their new roles.”
