Our Employment department has recently welcomed another three members to the team.

Briony McDermott joins from Wake Smith Solicitors in Sheffield as an associate solicitor. She brings with her over 10 years’ experience practising employment law for both private and commercial clients and with specific knowledge of the agricultural, construction and care sectors.

Throughout her career, Briony has advised employers on a range of employment law issues including dealing with redundancy processes, restructures and TUPE matters, and the legal implications of such reorganisations.

Philip Pearson joins as a solicitor having trained and qualified with Cartwright King Solicitors in Nottingham. Philip has significant experience in dealing with both contentious and non-contentious employment disputes, ranging from simple settlement agreements to complex disability discrimination claims involving principles and end-users.

He is also experienced in practising education law, which involves representing parents on various matters including admission appeals, governors’ complaints, complaints to the ESFA, appeals before the First-Tier Tribunal and university disciplinary matters.

Lyndsey Noga completes the new additions as a client relationship manager arriving from leading car and home insurer, Ageas.

Prior to joining Flint Bishop, Lyndsey worked within the financial services industry for 24 years, where she gained experience in managing major blue-chip affinity brands and some of the largest insurance companies within the UK insurance market.

Louise Easthope, partner and head of employment law, said: “I am delighted to be welcoming Briony, Philip and Lyndsey to the firm. It is encouraging that we are so busy and able to recruit new members into the department, despite the challenges of the pandemic.

“Our recent hires enable us to further develop our expertise and continue to provide excellent service delivery to our diverse range of clients across the Midlands and throughout the UK.”
