Flint Bishop has yet again celebrated excellent results in this year’s Legal 500 directory, which was released yesterday.
Not only has the firm grown in both size and scale of work they are currently undertaking, they have secured large multi-million-pound turnover, household named clients. Amongst their client list includes Office Depot, Autoglass, global publishing giant LexisNexis, Costcutter, an arm of SIG Plc, Food Standards Agency, Marston’s and Haven Insurance Group, to name a few.
Amongst the success saw recognition to Commercial Property experts Bev Simms and Ian Beardmore for their “very focused” approach.
Commercial Contracts congratulated Claire Tonks on her work assisting the Federation of Derbyshire Special Schools: the first of its kind in the Derbyshire area and Head of Department and David Miller was praised for his “very client-focused” approach.
Wills, Tax, Trusts and Probate were delighted to receive a Tier 2 ranking with Claire Rudkin being noted for her teams “growing track record”. Family Law was recommended for their “highly knowledgeable, experienced and exceptionally customer-focused” team which is led by Kirpal Bidmead.
Andrew Cochrane celebrates another year as a ‘Leading Lawyer’ – a title that is given to only a handful of Solicitors in the East Midlands, for his work in the licensing industry. Andrew works with clients such as Star Pubs and Heineken, to name a few.
Nick Wells was also praised in three areas of law and as being “one to note” for Commercial Litigation, Property Litigation and Debt Recovery.
This year’s spotlight is on Qamer Ghafoor, who has been acknowledged as being a Leading Solicitor in the East Midlands for another year. Qamer was praised by the Legal 500 in prior years as the “kind of Solicitor that would walk through fire” and an “A-star litigator with a case-handling mentality which is ‘equal to City firms”.
He is known as a being an elite Solicitor and this year has been recommended in four areas of law. Two of which are ranked the highest band of its kind, Tier 1, for both Professional Negligence and Commercial Litigation. The decision to award Tier 1 is not taken lightly by the Legal 500, as there must be significant evidence to prove why this rank is to be given.
The departments which Qamer Ghafoor is responsible for include Professional Negligence, Debt Recovery, Property Litigation and Commercial Litigation. This is the highest number of recommendations to be received by a Solicitor during the history of the firm, which is a fantastic achievement.
In the last few years, Qamer Ghafoor has been highly commended for his Debt Recovery practice which offers a complete service to high turnover, household named clients. The department currently holds all three national debt recovery awards from the CCR magazine, Chartered Institute of Credit Management (CICM) and Credit Strategy, a title that no other law firm can boast throughout the region.
Qamer Ghafoor comments;
“I’m pleased with this year’s Legal 500 results and for the recommendations across both the commercial and private areas of the firm. We have continued to drive the firm forward and have had a successful year, with taking on new complex instructions, further significant client wins and branched into untouched markets. I have no doubt that we will continue to build on this success year on year.
I am very pleased that my colleagues, Andrew Cochrane, Ian Beardmore, Nick Wells, Bev Simms, Claire Tonks, David Miller, Claire Rudkin and Kirpal Bidmead have all been highly regarded in this year’s recommendations. In the next twelve months we are looking at expansion across numerous departments and look forward to publicising details of some of our significant client wins in the near future.”
