Not only have we grown in both size and the scale of work undertaken, but we have also achieved a multi-million-pound turnover and secured household named clients such as Autoglass, LexisNexis, Costcutter, SIG Plc, Food Standards Agency, Marston’s and Haven Insurance Group, to name a few.

This year’s spotlight is on Qamer Ghafoor, who has been acknowledged as being a Leading Solicitor in the East Midlands for another year. Qamer was praised by The Legal 500 in prior years as the “kind of Solicitor that would walk through fire” and an “A-star litigator with a case-handling mentality which is ‘equal to City firms”.

He is known as being an elite solicitor and has been recommended in four areas of law this year, being ranked in the highest band achievable, Tier 1, for both professional negligence and commercial litigation. This is the highest number of recommendations to be received by a solicitor during the history of the firm, which is a fantastic achievement. In the last few years, Qamer has been highly commended for his development of our Debt Recovery team.

Also amongst the success were property experts Bev Simms and Ian Beardmore were recognised for their “very focused” approach.

Our Head of Commercial, David Miller, was praised for his “very client-focused” approach.

Our Wills, Probate, Tax & Trusts team were delighted to receive a Tier 2 ranking, with Claire Rudkin being noted for the teams “growing track record”. Our Family & Matrimonial team was recommended for their “highly knowledgeable, experienced and exceptionally customer-focused”.

Andrew Cochrane, who works with clients such as Star Pubs and Bars and Marston’s PLC, is celebrating another year as a ‘Leading Lawyer’, a title that is given to only a handful of solicitors in the East Midlands, for his work in the licensing industry.

Nick Wells was also praised in three areas of law and as being “one to note” for commercial litigation, property litigation and debt recovery.

Qamer Ghafoor comments on the firm’s rankings:

“I am pleased with this year’s The Legal 500 results and for the recommendations across both the commercial and private areas of the firm. We have continued to drive the firm forward and have had a successful year, with taking on new complex instructions, further significant client wins and branched into untouched markets. I have no doubt that we will continue to build on this success year on year.”
