Following the highest turnover achieved in the history of the firm, we are pleased to announce the appointment of Karen Walker as our new Chief Operating Officer (COO), effective 20 May 2024, as our ambitious plans for significant growth including strategic acquisitions, staff development and excellence in service continue at pace.

Karen joins Flint Bishop from Shakespeare Martineau, where she joined as Chief Transformation Officer in April 2020 and more recently undertook the role of Chief Operations Officer for their Debt Recovery department. Her tenure was marked by transformative achievements, where she led various strategic initiatives encompassing corporate restructures, IT transformations, operational overhauls, and oversight of M&A projects.

With a distinguished career that also includes a six-year tenure as Change Director at Browne Jacobson LLP, Karen brings a wealth of experience in corporate transformations and strategic leadership to Flint Bishop.

The news follows Flint Bishop achieving its strongest set of financial results to date. For the 12 months to 30 April 2024, annual turnover climbed to £20.7m, with total headcount surpassing 250 for the first time.

Qamer Ghafoor, Chief Executive of Flint Bishop, said: “I am delighted to welcome Karen to the senior leadership team. Her appointment is a major coup for the firm and underscores our commitment to excellence and our ambitious growth strategy. She will play an important role as the firm undergoes a period of further planned expansion of organic growth and upcoming acquisitions of strategically sought law firms.

“As we commence our new financial year, we have already started to see significant growth across several of our teams, and our focus on recruitment of lateral hires and experienced staff will continue at pace. Flint Bishop is positioned for further expansion, with a clear trajectory towards becoming a recognised national player, expanding market recognition, and solidifying its presence on a broader scale.

“It’s an exciting time for the business, and I anticipate further growth and diversification in our client base and services in the new financial year that lies ahead.”
