Since March 2016, Lucy has been a Partner of Flint Bishop where she specialises in commercial property and notarial practice. Prior to this, Lucy was a Partner of another Derby law firm, J H Powell & Co, where she worked for a total of 11 years.

Lucy qualified as a Solicitor in 2007 and made Partner in 2013.

Lucy’s property expertise includes development agreements, conditional sale agreements, leases, land acquisition and disposal (including options), site assembly for residential and commercial developers, overage agreements, agricultural expertise including farm acquisitions/disposals and farm business tenancy agreements and education sector specialism advising on the land aspects of academy conversion and re-brokerage.

Lucy has built up and maintained a loyal client base due to the thorough and efficient service she provides to both solicitor and notary clients alike.

Due to her proactive and diligent approach, Lucy is also regularly sought out by other departments at Flint Bishop to work on multi-discipline matters. In particular, Lucy has led our Property team on a number of complex and high-value corporate support matters this year.

Lucy is a valued member of the education team and a number of repeat education clients use her for the quality of her advice. Lucy often has to complete matters within extremely short timeframes.

Lucy is also a Notary Public, one of only a handful in Derbyshire and one of only 900 throughout England and Wales. As a Notary, Lucy prepares, authenticates and certifies documents for use in international property transactions and other matters involving foreign jurisdictions, thus adding to her considerable commercial property expertise.
